Assalamualaikum.Hi y'all.
I just bought books. This time it's a bit special. Mainly because i used my book vouchers courtesy of Pak Najib our PM. Secondly, i've never bought quite a number books in a single purchase. Beli 4 biji je pon. haha
So i purchased books. Not a big deal, rite? Well for you, perhaps. But for a broke pathetic student who thinks more than twice to spend on anything, buying books is something very huge, like something divine. *ini merepek, jangan percaya*. haha. Ok sincerely, i got books for free, i'm happy. =) who doesn't!?
All this thanks to the RM200 student vouchers.
So I spent RM50 of the voucher + RM30 of my own to buy books, which i think are awesome reading materials. It took me a while, wandering around the book store not knowing what to buy. As you should know, i am not an avid reader. Hate novels. I despise all kinds of lengthy stories and whatnot. Wait, that sounds too harsh. Take that back. I don't hate them, i'm just not in love with them. I don't like reading.
The thing is, i never find a novel 'that' interesting. Heck i never finished reading a novel. Except that Konserto Terakhir, a malay novel i read when i was 17. Finished, but with struggle because it's part of the SPM and i didn't trust all the literature explanations in the reference books. For the record, there are other literature books, which i read halfway during my 5 year secondary education. I prefer to read the short summary in the reference books. There, pecah rahsia. But i still aced the exams anyway. See, that's how excellent i was. *bajet* haha
Enough with the glory past.
So when i went through almost all sections, my eyes caught this pile of books between the entry and the cashier. They were hard covered with beautiful display of titles with pictures and stuffs. I browsed a few and to my surprised, i loved them. Because they're no way in hell looked like novels and the content were like kid's books, you know, less words, full of cartoons and illustrations. However in this case, no cartoons involved and the pictures and illustrations were more informative. Like encyclopedia.
They were histories via pictures, wars, traveler's journal, bibliography, cookery stuffs and whatnot. Imagine all these books with interesting pictures. Real pictures and cool stories behind it. (Cookbook is excluded, because it's recipes. No stories).
Long story short, i got myself a book about health problem. Lame, i know. But this book explains about health problem symptoms, the cause, prevention plan and everything that a doctor will tell you- in a book with less words and with simple non-medical friendly language. Again, the pictures inside are the reason why i chose it.
Alamak, tak solat maghrib lagi. I guess i'll explain other books in other posts. *Lagipon dah malas taip* Besides, i still got RM150 voucher left. Maybe i'll make a post, explaining all the books i buy using the voucher.
Maybe i'll love reading, one day.
Till then.
